BioSphere Essentials: Probiotics in animal nutrition. From mode of action to impact.
November 02, 2026 16:00 Europe/Copenhagen
Probiotics can support gut health, resilience and animal performance, but what determines their impact in animals?
It starts with understanding what defines a probiotic and the relationship between the specific microbial strain, the feed, the gut environment and the host.
In this BioSphere Essentials webinar, we’ll explore these fundamental principles and show how they help explain the role and application of probiotics across animal nutrition and health.
Discover why strain matters, how probiotics interact with feed components, the gut environment and the host, and how differences between animals, diets and production systems can shape their impact.
Using examples from across poultry, swine, ruminant and aquaculture nutrition, we’ll connect probiotic mode of action with practical outcomes and provide a scientific foundation for understanding and evaluating probiotic solutions.
You’ll learn:
How probiotics are defined and why strain matters
How probiotics interact with the gut environment, feedstuff and the host
How specific effective strains support gut health and performance
Why probiotic outcomes differ across species and production systems
How mode of action translates into real impact in your operation
Part of BioSphere Essentials series— explore the fundamental science behind biosolutions and build the knowledge to go deeper.
